Silent Reading

The school gets pupil to read books every morning because the school wants the pupils of the school to make reading a habit to them and improve or maintain their English standard .It is also to help them remain silent.

I do like the silent reading because I get to read my favourite book without being disturb except that the hall is very hot and stuffy that I could not concentrate on my book.Sometimes I get to sit in the hall with the fan blowing at me and I am grateful for that.

I like reading because most writers uses a whole lot of words that I have not learn before.I would check the dictionary if I do not understand a word in the book.

I like to read books that are interesting such as mystery and supernatural books. Before I buy a book or lend a book,I will read the book review and see what is the story about.I do not want to buy or lend a book that is not interesting. It would be a waste of money.

Yes,I do believe that reading books will improve our studies as I did not like to read when I was in primary one.Ever since I started reading books,my studies improved tremendously.

The school can encourage the school to read by telling the students to share stories and why it is interesting or why do they like to read that story. The school should also bring in more story books to let the students enjoy the books while sitting in the air conditioned environment.

If I were to recommend a story book,I will recommend South By South East. The author is Anthony Horrowitz and I like that story because it is interesting and makes me want to read more about it.The story is about 2 agents who solve the case of Charon.Charon is not a name but a code name and the agents who are brothers, did not know that their friend was Charon...if you want to find out more,BUY THIS BOOK.I bought it at Borders....

Outside school activities

1)I am only involved in tuition from Monday to Sunday and nothing more.2)I spend two days on these activities. My tuition lessons are on Thursday and Saturday.3)On Thursdays I spend one and a half hour on tuition while on Saturdays I spend about four to five hours on tuition as I have two tuition classes on that very day.4)I am involved in these activities because my parents think I am weak in my studies and so they look for tuition classes on the days when I have time.5)I think my tuition classes are necessary because the tutors help me improve my studies.I remember I was once weak in english but ever since I was taught by the tutor,in english language,my english improved.6)I do not think these activities are affecting my studies or my work.7)I do feel stressed in these activities because I am usually given lots of homework.8)I think people should be involved in outside school activities because they get to try out new things and may pick up skills.

Passion For Learning

1)I understand 'passion for learning' by showing concentration in studying, trying to find out and understand more about what the teachers' have taught them, hands up homework on time, plans their time and does not give trouble to their teachers, troubles such as not handing up homework or giving excuses not to do their homework.
2)I think it is necessary for people to have a passion for learning because it will build up people's knowledge and makes them independent in their studying career.
3)I have a cousin, every time when i look at him,he is always doing his homework. He has a disease called eczema, like me,but he is in the university. He is graduating this year around June.Every time I have difficulty with my homework,I would approach him for help.He would ask me to read the passage or draw a diagram and I would understand the problem.
4)He demonstrates passion for learning by finding out more about what he does not understand. He would not give up if he could not find the meaning or the answer for his problems and keeps trying.
5)I do not think I have passion for learning yet because I do not show much improvement in my behaviour for studying.
6)I can develop passion for learning by showing improvement in my studies and hand in homework on time.

Target Setting.

The purpose of setting targets for the various subjects is to help us improve our grades so that we will have a bright future ahead.Yes,I think that the target setting programme is useful because it will make us work harder and do the best that we can be.I find it more useful and also found out that i have made improvements.I have made a home timetable and started doing assessment books for every subject(English,Maths,Chinese and Science) almost everyday. My parents are helping me by hiring tutors and teaching various methods for mathematics, and I find it useful.I will hand in my homework on time. The teachers/school can tell us lifes of those who struggled during primary school but became graduates, they can give us tips of how they become successful people.

How I Spent My December Holidays.

I spent my holidays in Malaysia with my family, including my cousins, uncles and aunt. The best part of the holiday was not just visiting famous places but eating the food there. One of the food I enjoyed was the chicken rice made into fishball-shape.The best desert I've eaten in Malaysia was The Chendol. It is a desert made from crushed ice. Then they will pour sweet milk over it and they will put red beans,green-coloured jelly and colourings to make it colourful. The tour guide checked in into our hotel at about 3pm.The hotel was a room with two beds and a bathroom and all the facilities we needed.I ordered another extra bed as I wanted to sleep with my cousin.after the second part of touring,we went back to the hotel to rest. Two hours after the rest, the tour guide told us that we were suppose to get changed and get ready to have dinner at a restaurant. When we entered the restaurant for about 5 minutes,I started to feel chilly and ordered a cup of hot tea.I drank the tea and felt really comfortable. One of my favourite part of staying in the hotel was playing Black Jack.I earned extra pocket money in malaysia. In total,I won about 18 dollars(ringgit). Our bettings each game[of Black Jack] was 1 dollar. We spent most of the time eating at restaraunts and at the end of the holiday,I have put on 1.5kg. :] hehe...

Singapore Grand Prix 2008

FI is a set of technical regulations for single seater racing cars which is published annually by the FIA.Formula One(FI)first started from 1894 to 1900 and it was first held from Paris to Rouen.I think Singapore should stage the FI because FI supporters in Singapore would buy tickets and see their favourite racers on the racing track.Singapore would be famous if we stage the FI in Singapore. My favourite racer is Lewis Hamilton.I like that racer because he is skilful with the car.The only problem about FI is because it is hazardous but the only thing I like about FI is the salary.I did not watch the FI race so i don't really know what happen.
